I’m Christianna. I write. I make television. I eat a lot. I am happy to call Venice, California, home.
I’ve worked in food for almost 15 years, starting in Bobby Flay’s kitchen at Mesa Grill in New York. From there, I began private cheffing in New York, and continued my food television path by becoming a producer and executive at Food Network, working with Bobby Flay, Giada DiLaurentiis, Aida Mollenkamp, Guy Fieri, and the like. I now freelance in California, producing content for Food Network, Cooking Channel, and Travel Channel. I still hear the siren song of the line every once in a while which draws me into fantastic kitchens like Clementine and Cook’s County in Beverly Hills, California. I don’t know why they keep letting me in, but they do. I have written about food for Saveur, Specialty Food Magazine, Blackboard Eats, Omaha World-Herald, and KCET, among others.
Also, I love me some motorcycles.
Burwell General Store used to be a physical place in my childhood hometown of Burwell, Nebraska, a rural farming community steeped in pioneering spirit. All of these words and inspiration spring from that determined, can-do, high prairie grit I was born with. Read about my place in Burwell, an old Carnegie Library I converted into a vacation home, here.
I tweet food and randomness @burwellgeneral. I tweet moto stuff @VeniceMoto.
